INTRODUCTION
This prospectus is an introduction to the various Government Medical Colleges in the
Sindh and Liaquat University of Medical Health Sciences, Jamshoro, Pakistan, it contains rules and regulations concerning administration, admissions and
examinations etc. This prospectus is revised yearly to update changes.
1. The rules in this prospectus shall apply to all the Sindh Government Medical Institutions
namely:-
1). Dow University
of Health Sciences, Karachi
(i) Dow Medical
College, Karachi.
(ii) Sindh Medical College,Karachi.
iii). Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences, Jamshoro.
iv). Chandka Medical College, Larkana.
v). Peoples Medical College,Nawabshah.
vi) Sardar Ghulam Muhammad Mahar Medical College,Sukkur
2. All the above Institutions are
being maintained by the Government of Sindh and are under the administrative control of Health Department.
3. All the Institutions after a five years study course lead to the M.B.B.S degree of the University to
which they are affiliated.
4. There is co-education in all the Institutions except in Peoples Medical College, Nawabshah where only females
are admitted.
5. One or more hospitals are attached to each medical Institution for imparting clinical teaching to the
students. The clinical Professors/Associate Professors /Assistant Professors of
the Institutions are also consultants to the attached teaching hospitals.
6. Students on the role of these Institutions shall be bound to abide by the rules and regulations as laid down
in this prospectus and such changes issued by government of Sindh from time to
time.
7. Government of Sindh reserves the right of additions to and alterations of any rule / rules in the prospectus
at any stage.
This Prospectus is issued with the approval of the Government of Sindh.
