LIBRARY


1. The library shall be open to the teaching staff, students of the institution and the medical staff of the attached teaching hospital.
(a) The library and reading room shall remain open on every working day during the prescribed hours.
(b) Silence and order shall be maintained in the library at the times. Infringement of this rule shall render the person liable to a fine up to Rs. 100/=.

2. Books and journals will be issued to students only on deposit of their identity cards with the librarian. The Identity Cards be returned after the books are returned. Students are not permitted to take books outside the library.

3. Two books at a time can be issued to the teaching staff for 15 days only. Heads of the departments and Professors are privileged to take more than two books at a time.

4. Books required in the library for checking stocking etc. must be returned promptly on receipt of notice from the librarian.

5. Books are issued strictly according to the priority demand and books borrowed from the library are not transferable.

6. The book card placed at the end of book in a pocket, must be delivered to the librarian after signature, before the book is taken away and at the time of returning the book, card should promptly be marked with return entries.

7. Any person, who loses, defaces or otherwise seriously damages books is liable to replace the same or pay the cost of replacement and in the event of the book being one of the set or series, the cost of the whole set or series.

8. Books required for occasional reference such as encyclopedias and dictionaries, and books of great value or reality shall not be removed from the library, under any circumstances.

9. A sum of Rs.500/= as cash security from the temporary teaching staff is compulsory.

10. A suggestion book is available in the library, wherein suggestions for new books will be made by the students. A list of all new books received will be circulated to all the departments and the books will be kept separate for a fortnight, before they can be used.

11. Textbooks prescribed by the university and reference books should only be read in the library. Such reference books will only be issued to the Professor for a period not exceeding 48 hours.

12. A number of current journals will be kept in the staff reading room and left there till the next issue is received, at which time the back issue will be transferred to the student's section. The periodical publications and newspapers received for the students section will be placed on the table for use of students will not be taken under any circumstances.

13. Students who are needy and deserving can have books from the Lending Library on application. This Lending Library will be organized by students themselves under the guidance of the Principal, other administrative staff and the President of the Student's Council.
