Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Tuesday expressed his deep sorrow and grief over the sad demise of Dr Abdul Qadir Soomro who sacrificed his life while helping the COVID-19 patients get better.

Dr Soomro contracted the coronavirus on March 28 when he was dealing with COVID-19 patients. He was admitted to the hospital on March 31 where he died on Monday.

In his condolence message to Dr Soomro's family and colleagues, the chief minister said that Dr Soomro sacrificed his life but saved the lives of a large number of patients.

This he said in his video message released from the CM House on Tuesday. Shah said that the doctors were in the frontline in the fight against COVID-19. Their services and those of the paramedical staff were commendable. “I salute the doctors for their selfless service for this cause," he said.
